The treasure of an authentic terroir

Here, it all begins in the land of the south-west. A land of gourmet delights, where the terroir is a palette of authentic and varied flavours.

The Lot is not just a department, it's a cellar, an orchard, a pasture where each product tells the story of the jealously guarded know-how of its craftsmen.

Under its hundred-year-old walnut trees, theNoix du Périgord PDO delivers its golden kernels and fragrant oil, while a little further south, the Quercy melons, Hand-picked, they fill the summer tables with sunshine.

On the Causses du Quercy, goats graze on fine, fragrant grass: their milk gives birth to the Rocamadour, a small, creamy, nutty cheese puff. Alongside them, the fattened duck, the pride of the South West, and thefarmhouse lamb from Quercy, Label Rouge, tell the story of a respectful farming tradition. Even more tender, the veal reared under the mother with its melt-in-the-mouth flesh and delicate flavour.

Along the valley, the vines cling to the slopes and offer the world theAOC Cahors, A deep, intense wine made from the Malbec grape variety, which goes so well with local dishes.

La Périgord strawberry, with its bright, sweet flavour, heralds the return of fine weather. Quercy black truffle, precious and secret, charms winters with a discreet luxury.

Here, nature is still fragrant with the Quercy lavender, distilled for its exceptional oil, and adorned with saffron, that red gold picked flower by flower, testimony to a rediscovered savoir-faire. In spring, the white asparagus are popping up in the Dordogne valley, offering their delicate sweetness at market tables and inns.

This is how the tasty fabric of the Lot is woven: a land of taste, passion and patience, where each product tells the story of the land and those who cultivate it.
